Andy Rising (b. 1979) is a contemporary landscape artist. Using traditional painting techniques, video, and projection, the work looks at the effects of historical myth on landscape through the lens of a contemporary naturalist. Natural spaces are imposed upon by human needs in ways that evoke complex metaphors. Truths become evident, speak for themselves, and motivating forces are renewed in their metaphor.
