About Regranting and Colorado Artist Grants at RedLine

2022 Arts in Society Grantee Helanius J. Wilkins

RedLine's Regranting Program demonstrates our commitment to socially engaged art by directly funding projects that address social issues, prioritizing funding for artists in underrepresented communities, and providing infrastructural support and capacity building for grantees.

During the pandemic, RedLine shifted and adapted programming quickly in response to fast-changing, evolving community needs.

The new Makers for Masks Project paid artists (who had lost income due to venue closures) to sow masks for our most vulnerable populations, homeless shelters and RTD drivers and staff.

A significant pivot was to bolster our regranting programs, which directed much needed financial resources to artists and organizations.

Most recently, the State of Colorado approved $7.5 million in relief funds to support arts, cultural and entertainment artists, crew members, and organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In partnership with Colorado Creative Industries, RedLine administered Colorado Arts Relief for Individuals that provided one-time grant awards of flat amounts up to $2,500.

How Regranting at RedLine Works

RedLine works in collaboration with independent funders, members of the philanthropic sector, local government, and other community stakeholders to support a diverse range of ground-breaking grant projects for Colorado artists and creatives.

Depending on the specific program, RedLine manages different facets of grant administration.

This can include managing the application process, as well as reviewing paperwork, plans, budgets, and more.
