Sacred. Resonant. Haunting. Intimate. These are just a few of the compelling words art critic Ray Rinaldi of The Denver Post used to describe Denise Zubizarreta’s Descansa en el Poder exhibition here at RedLine.
Descansa en el Poder (Rest In Power) is a solo exhibition by Zubizarreta, a neurodivergent mixed-media artist of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent.
Through immersive installations, sculpture, and mixed media, Zubizarreta invites us to embark on a transformative journey into the forgotten stories of the Caribbean.
Curated by Tya Anthony, this exhibition delves into themes of family, ancestry, and religious trauma through personal narratives from the past and present.
Part of our Stories_UnderScored program, Descansa en el Poder is on view from through December 1, 2024.
