Resident Artist Cherish Marquez Featured in The Denver Post

Just like every other facet of our lives, the digitization of art is becoming more and more prominent. And RedLine Resident Artist Cherish Marquez is at the forefront of this movement, paving the way for other Denver artists to witness what’s possible to construct—and what stories we can tell—in this new(ish) medium.

Marquez created a stunning digital piece titled “Devil’s Claw Rebirth” for our current Resident Artist Exhibition, Chromatic Cogitations: Rhythm Reboot. She experiments primarily with video games and interactive media that exist in similar spaces within her alternate universe.

More recently, Marquez is starring in her debut solo show titled “Voices in the Desert,” on display at Union Hall Gallery until January 8, 2022. This immersive exhibit explores environmental racism, resilience, and floral metaphysics through several modes and mediums of interactive art — including multi-channel videos, sound components, workable video games, and more.

The emotive show attracted the attention of art critic Ray Rinaldi with The Denver Post, who described “Voices of the Desert” as “the future of art, nudging digital media deeper into the mainstream.”
